How to Install ArcGIS on PC

Go to X:\arcgis82_Desktop and double click SetupArcGIS.exe

Allow it to update files and restart

Install Desktop

Make sure the ArcInfo radio button is selected (default)

Use Complete installation

After it tells you that the install is finished, it will give you more options

No tutorial data

No Seagate Crystal Reports

Use other defaults

Go to X:\arcgis82_Workstation and double click SetupWorkstation.exe

Use Complete installation

Use other defaults

Restart computer when it asks you to and log in as Administrator

Create ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcToolbox shortcuts on the desktop and then move those shortcuts from the Administrator desktop directory to the 'All Users' desktop directory
