The following document contains information about the GIS database that has been created by the project. If you would like to order the data set, instructions are provided in the ordering information document. The Carrizo GIS database was created with ARC/INFO 7.0. After projection of the vectorized map into stateplane projection, California zone 7, the maximum accuracy of the data set is 28.685 meters. The coverages are still in state plane projection; however they can easily be reprojected with minimal distortion. Field observations will be included in the database in the future.
The geology and structure were classified using the beta release of A La Carte version 3.0 from the USGS. Arc attributes for structure are classified in the AAT element LTYPE using the standard USGS/A La Carte linetype identifiers. Geologic labels are found under the PTYPE attribute of the PAT.
Attitudes were recorded in a separate coverage as USGS standard dictates. The type of attitude is recorded under PTYPE in the coverage. Strike and dip values for the attitudes are recorded under the STRIKE and DIP elements, respectively, in the coverage.
Coverages containing mechanical model results are hoped to be completed soon.
