Camera Pentax Optio WG-1 |
|
We used Pentax Optio WG-1 campact digital camera in 2011. It is equipped with interval shooting capability. Interval shooting enables you to take multiple still pictures at a set interval. The minimum interval that you can set with Pentax Optio WG-1 is 10 seconds. And the maximum number of pictures that you can set is 1000 pictures. (Except that it cannot exceed the number of recordable images.) We usually set the interval to 10 seconds and took hundreds of pictures.
Brief instruction for using Pentax Optio WG-1 interval shooting.
0. Fully charge 2 batteries so that you have a backup battery. 1. Turn on the camera. 2. Select Drive mode. 3. Select Interval Shoot. 4. Set the interval. *** I would recommend "0 min. 10 sec." *** 5. Set the Number of Shots. *** If you would like to keep on taking photos for 20 minutes, for example, you would set the number to "120" (6 photos/min x 20 minutes). *** 6. Set Start Delay. *** I usually set this to "0 hr. 0 min." so that the camera would start taking photos right away. *** 7. Press the MENU button. 8. Focus at a farway object, and press the shutter release button halfway. *** Do not focus on an object that is very close to the camera. *** 9. Press the shutter release button fully. Then, the camera will start the interval shooting. To cancel the interval shooting, press the power switch and then the MENU button during standby. Pressing the OK button to [Stop interval shooting?] message will cancel interval shooting. |

Notes | |
1. Try to walk slowly enough so that the hotos will cover the area in target. If you walk too fast, you might miss something. 2. Hook up the camera to the camera rig with a strap or a string like in the above pictures. The screw is not secure enough. 3. Try several altitudes and see the results. |

Balloon Operation | |
The following pictures will show you how the balloon operations were performed. These pictures were taken in November 2008. In November 2008, we were using a larger camera with a servo that triggers the shutter.
